2008 Spice Route Viognier
The past few evenings have been perfect for outdoor dining. Last night, we sat outside and enjoyed this wine with grilled steak and roasted asparagus. If you read my wine posts with any sort of regularity, you already know that I am a huge fan of viognier. I describe it as a chardonnay with more interest. Spice Route is a product of South Africa and this particular viognier is complex and fruity with a bit of spice. Retails for around $18 and available locally at the Mtn Brook Western.

I'm sure I've had viognier before- but I couldn't recall. Ordered a bottle of it (can't remember which) at Hot & Hot a couple of weekends ago and loved it. I'll have to figure out which one it was.
